Do You Use Your iPhone Apps?
Posted by admin in ipod news
This Pinch Media study monitored 30 million apps in the iPhone App Store and found that most apps are in use by fewer than 5% of iPhone users after a month has passed since the download.
Personally, I’ve downloaded some apps that sit on my home screen without being used, but I appreciate most of my apps and use them regularly. For example, I’ve used all of these in the last week:
- Todo
- iFitness
- WeDict
- Pandora
- Shazam
- iTranslate
What about you? Are you in the majority of iPhone users who don’t use their apps a month after they’ve downloaded them? Or do you make good use of most of your apps? Just wondering.
Help an AiR Reader Find an iPhone App Developer
Posted by admin in ipod news
I don’t usually do this, but a reader contacted me looking for an iPhone app developer, so I’m posting his project details here to see if there are any developers who might be interested in this.
Andrew writes:
I have a project I’m working on for some local customers, and have been trying to contact a reliable programmer, experienced in developing iPhone applications. I would sincerely appreciate any referrals…
The project requires a directory listing of all customers. An overview of the project requirements:
- Give brief description and five (5) photos of customer’s location (stored locally NOT on web)
- Utilize Facebook API’s for social aspect (post notes to user’s profile, share URL, update status, generate event based on user actions)
- Use GPS location for some features/notifications
- Incorporate weather widget/module
- Allow user ratings/comments
- Allow user signup for services (data to be stored on web server or emailed to client)
- Currency converter (data to be drawn from web server)
User interface and icons MUST be aesthetically appealing in a similar fashion to current iPhone apps. Developer can choose appropriate database.
